Ahndahn’s
Destiny
A
Yahgahn Fable
A
long time ago, as the world was being created, there was a Deity born whose
name was Ahndahn. Born to Grahbahn, the
Deity of Life, and Thurr, the Deity of Peace and Love, Ahndahn was the Deity of
Organization and Fertility. Yet She did not know what She would be the Deity of
for a long time. The others knew soon after being born, and had gone right to
work. Yet Ahndahn still didn’t know, even after several years. She despaired
often, talking with the other Deities, but none of them knew. Finally, She
decided to ask Moiulainas Tébalas, the Mother of All Creation.
“Oh, great Moiulainas Tébalas, the Mother of All Creation, do you know what my destiny is?”
The Mother of All Creation looked at Ahndahn and smiled, “Ahndahn, destiny is not something that is pre-determined. You must make your own destiny. What do you want to do?”
“I do not know. Many of the things I like are already being done. I would like to run and have life flourish where my footsteps land, but Ohniahnis already does that. I would like to create and protect animals, but Fwentwetii already does that. I would like to be creator and protector of Life, but my mother already does that. I would like to be Knowledge, Studying, or something like that, but Kusahnia already does that! I know not what to do!”
“Well, I have faith that you will learn. I give you my blessings, Child.”
So Ahndahn walked off, and continued walking, trying to figure out what She was supposed to do. Her walking finally took Her past the Heart of the Chaos, which several other Deities were trying to control, with little success. Ahndahn, hearing the commotion, asked what was wrong, and was politely told that since there was no one Deity that could control it, the other Deities took turns trying to control it. Ahndahn was interested, and got closer, to get a better look. Then, Her foot briefly hit the surface of the Heart of the Chaos, and that part went from thrashing around and trying to escape the Deities’ control to becoming as calm and smooth as the surface of marble. Yet as soon as She removed Her foot, it went back to being chaotic.
None of the Deities had noticed this except for Ahndahn. It was then that She realized the first part of Her destiny, and it was the ability to control Chaos! But would She create this destiny for Herself, or would She pass it on? Faced with a crossroads, She made the decision that created Her destiny: She jumped into the Heart of the Chaos.
At first, all was calm. Then, suddenly, a trillion or more things bombarded Her mind at once, changing always. Time lost all meaning, and so much was going on in such a horribly crazy way that it would have driven any other Deity insane. Yet Ahndahn’s unique and extraordinary mind began to work on the Heart of the Chaos. It was still very difficult.
Somewhere in the process of doing this, a shift of energies in the HOTC1 created a strange catch, and suddenly another face appeared before Ahndahn i[1]n that chaotic place. She did not recognize it. The face was moderately dark-skinned, with long black hair and dark eyes.
“I AM CHAOS! I AM SHOIKIN!” shouted the face, as a body formed and attached itself to the head. “I AM THE HEART OF THE CHAOS! I DEMAND TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE!”
“I am Ahndahn. I am here to claim my destiny.”
“And what is your destiny?”
“I am here to bring organization to this place. For chaos is essential, but must be balanced with organization.”
“YOU WILL NOT!!! SCREEEEEE!!!!” Shoikin screamed out.
“I WILL BRING ORGANIZATION HERE, IT IS MY DESTINY!”
“DESTINY SCHMESTIMY! YOU MUST FIGHT ME FIRST!”
And so the two Deities began to wrestle for control of the HOTC. The energy the two were expending to gain control was so great that they soon began to enjoy the struggle, and began to fall in love. And as soon as they fell in love, the energy shifted again, and a blast of pure white energy shot out of the HOTC, startling the Deities that had been trying to control the HOTC. The light was so bright that all the Deities saw it, and they watched as this energy settled beside the HOTC, becoming of equal size and depth as it. The Deities realized then that they witnessed the creation of the Wellspring. And that is where the second half of Ahndahn’s destiny lay. For the wellspring added a fresh burst of loving, healthful, creative energy to the Multiverse. Thus is the tale of Ahndahn’s destiny and the fusing of Chaos and Organization, and the creation of the Wellspring and it’s energy of fertility.
The
moral of the story is that even the Deities create their own destiny. Your path
is yours to travel, and only you can choose where to go on your path. Your
destiny is yours to create.
